01Focus on the first 10 days of the month. They are almost all irregular: tsuitachi, futsuka, mikka, and more.
02Remember that 4, 7, and 9 often have special readings in dates: shigatsu, shichigatsu, and kugatsu.
03The 20th of the month is always "hatsuka", not "nijunichi".
04Say the full date out loud as you type to reinforce your memory.
05Japanese eras are common in official documents. For the first year of an era, "gannen" is used instead of "ichinen".
